On Tuesday, 20 September 2022, the School of Law at the ºÚÁÏÉç hosted a special interactive seminar by Professor John Helminski, University of North Carolina.

The session, which was entitled The Insanity Defence: A Comparative Appraisal, focused on the evolution and operation of the insanity defence under American criminal law.

A thought-provoking, indigenous-focused response was offered by Professor Paul McCutcheon (School of Law, ºÚÁÏÉç). 

The event was co-ordinated by Dr Alan Cusack and Professor John Bogue (NUIG). The event was supported by Fullbright Ireland.
