Dr Kathryn O’Sullivan of the School of Law, UL, presented at the International Society of Family Law European Regional Conference entitled “Family Recognition Beyond Marriage” held at the University of Oslo, Norway, May 12th-13th. The event, which was organised jointly by the Department of Private Law, University of Oslo and the Nordic Centre for Comparative and International Family Law (NorFam), drew speakers from around the world to the Domus Academia of the University of Oslo’s Law School. 

Dr O’Sullivan contributed to a session focused on children and de facto relationships alongside Prof Marsha Garrison (Brooklyn Law School), Ms Małgorzata Balwicka-Szczyrba and Ms Anna Sylwestrzak (University of Gdansk) and Dr Hugues Fulchiron (Univeristy Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and judge of the Cour de cassation). Kathryn’s participation in the event was kindly supported by the Arts, Humanities and Social Science Faculty Research Committee.
