Bio: After completing a PhD in exercise psychology in 2001 at Loughborough University, I worked for three years as Director of the Exercise and Sport Psychology Unit at the University of Exeter in England. Eager to see more of the Commonwealth, I moved to Canada in August 2003 and the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto. I am currently a Professor and Chair in Applied Public Health in the School of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Broadly, my research has focused on two inter-related themes: the development and evaluation of physical activity interventions; and physical activity and mental health.
