UL ºÚÁÏÉç is delighted to provide access to the library for sixth year students preparing for their leaving certificate exams. The scheme will run from 22 May 2025 to the 24 June 2025. The scheme is now fully subscribed.

Access will be available during ºÚÁÏÉç Building opening hours from 22 May 2025 - 24 June 2025.

ºÚÁÏÉç access cards can only be collected on or after 22 May during library staffed hours 9:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday.

What to bring with you on your first visit?

  • You will need to bring some photo ID with proof of age on your first visit to the library, on or after May 22 when the scheme commences.
  • Sixth year students under 18 will also need to fill out an additional consent form that must be signed by their parent/guardian, you can either print out the consent form and bring it with you on the day to collect your library access card from the library or you can attach a photo of the form to the application form.
  • After submitting your application form online, you will receive an approval email within a few days. Please keep this safely and bring it with you on your first visit to the library.
  • Please collect your library access card during library staffed hours (09:00 – 17:00 Monday -Friday) on or after May 22.
  • You must behave in an appropriate manner in the library and follow the ºÚÁÏÉç Code of Conduct.
  • You must always bring your access card with you, as you cannot enter the library without it. Do not share it with anyone else.
  • Do not enter any prohibited areas, these will be signposted in the library.
  • Noise should be kept to a minimum.
  • Mobile phones must be kept on silent, and headphones used while playing videos.
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted.
  • No hot food in the library. Drinks and snacks only in reusable bottles and containers.
  • Help to keep the building clean and tidy – please dispose of litter in the bins provided.
  • Do not damage or abuse any item of library property.
  • Do not move furniture.
  • Remove all belongings when leaving. Do not leave any valuables unattended. The library accepts no liability for any personal property lost, stolen or mislaid in the building.
  • The following services are not available: group study rooms, access to PCs, borrowing books or laptops, access to e-resources, printing or copying etc.
  • Guest Wi-Fi is available – select ‘ul_guest’ network. This will give you 7 days guest Wi-Fi access, after which time you can renew it. Comply with the UL IT Acceptable Usage Policy.
  • Please report any unusual activity, behaviour, breakages etc. to a member of staff or email libinfo@ul.ie.
  • Follow any instructions issued by library or security staff.
  • Please respect the building and show consideration to other library users and staff.
  • Any breach of the above terms may be met with penalties, which may include withdrawal of your access card and/or a request to leave
