

The Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering is proud to share that Hedieh Pour Bagheri Sigaroudi has successfully defended her PhD thesis last week. Her research, titled "A New Methodology for Robotic Manipulator Control Based on Imitation," represents a significant contribution to the field and is the result of years of dedication, innovation, and perseverance.
The research journey was marked by both challenges and growth, culminating in a successful viva that was chaired with professionalism by Edin Omerdic. The examination panel offered insightful questions and valuable feedback that further enriched the academic discussion.
Hedieh expressed deep gratitude to her supervisory team, Prof. Daniel Toal, Dr. Phillipe Santos, and Prof. Tiziana Margaria for their continuous support, expert guidance, and encouragement throughout the PhD journey.
Special thanks were also extended to the Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence and the Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS, ECE Dept. UL), all of which played a pivotal role in supporting this research.
