General English

The General English summer programme follows the same timetable and syllabus as the year-round programme.

In addition, each week the summer programme also includes:

One full-day weekend excursion (Saturday)
Tuesday - Friday afternoons
One evening activity on Fridays

General English will help you to:

develop your fluency by providing lots of opportunities for practising spoken English;
understand how the language works;
develop all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing);
increase your knowledge of Irish culture;
practise and improve your intercultural skills;
develop your ability to learn languages independently.

General English Standard - 20 hours per week

The typical timetable is 9am-12.50pm each day from Monday to Friday.

General English Intensive - 24 hours per week (subject to numbers)

Also 9am-12.50pm each day from Monday to Friday plus four hours extra over two afternoons per week. The intensive programme is subject to sufficient numbers applying.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements: Elementary level (A2)
Minimum age: 17 years
Maximum class size: 15 students

2025 start dates

Our summer Programme will run for nine weeks from 30 June until Saturday 30 August 2025.

Students can start class any Monday, apart from bank holidays.
