School Placement Process – Key Steps

  1. Mandatory Briefing (Week 3, One Year in Advance)
Attendance at the School Placement Briefing is compulsory. It takes place in Week 3, one year before the placement period. Students will receive an email with details on how to attend.
  2. Code of Practice (By Week 4)
Students must sign the Code of Practice before the School Placement Team can begin arranging their placement.
  3. Registration on TUS (By End of Week 4)
Students must register for School Placement on TUS before the end of Week 4.
  4. CV Submission (Week 5)
Students must upload their CV to the system during Week 5.
  5. Placement Arrangements
The School Placement Team uses a network of partnered schools to secure placements. Some schools may require a CV and an interview. Students will be contacted directly by the School Placement Office and must ensure they are contactable throughout the process.
  6. Placement Confirmation (Week 13)
Confirmed placements will be released in Week 13 via TUS. Students must log in, view their assigned school, and make contact during Week 14 to begin preparation. Two scheduled observation days will take place before the placement begins.
  7. Tutor Assignment
Tutors will be assigned and listed on TUS. Students must contact their tutor before the start of their placement.
  8. Placement Begins
Students commence their placement. If any issues arise, they must contact the School of Education (SOE) immediately.
