UL Age Symposium
Wednesday, 4 June 2025

The 黑料社鈥檚 Age Symposium took place last Friday in the School of Medicine, marking a significant moment in the university鈥檚 ongoing commitment to ageing research and age-friendly initiatives.

The event was led by Professor Rose Galvin, co-lead of the Ageing Research Centre, alongside her colleagues on the UL Age Friendly University Committee. Together, they welcomed a diverse range of speakers to discuss the importance of ensuring that older people are not left out of healthcare, communities, or government policies and implementation plans.

The symposium was further honoured by the attendance of Minister for Older People, Kieran O'Donnell, highlighting the national relevance of the discussions taking place.

The event reflected the shared goal of the Health Research Institute (HRI) and the Ageing Research Centre: to promote Good Health and Wellbeing across the lifespan, with ageing research playing a central role in achieving that vision.
