What are Orientation and Induction?

Orientation is typically for taught programmes delivered on-campus, with Orientation comprising of on-campus activities (Welcome Addresses, Course Talks, Campus Tours, etc.) arranged for the Friday before the start of Semester (Friday 5th Sept 2025). It is also an opportunity for you to meet fellow peers and UL faculty and start the socialisation process.

Online Induction is typically for programmes run online or blended. This varies from programme to programme and is run during the 10-day window ahead of the start of your studies. It comprises of a suite of faculty-led online activities that will provide you with programme information and gives you exposure to the virtual learning platform. This will enable you to familiarise yourself with the general layout, navigation, structure and underlying interaction mechanisms, without having to worry about academic performance during this period.
