

Springboard+
UL and the Government of Ireland, through the Higher Education Authority, collaborates closely to ensure that organisations and learners are fully supported in the quest for lifelong learning. UL offers career-orientated and diverse upskilling opportunities to learners, as part of our commitment to learner inclusivity and lifelong learning.
Springboard+ funded programmes are 100% funded for the unemployed and returners, and 90% funded for employed. All level 6 courses are fully funded.
Course demand is high and funded places are likely to fill quickly. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis, prioritising unemployed and returning applicants. Courses will be closed once the maximum number of applicants is achieved.

Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF programme for employability, inclusion and learning 2014-2020. The majority of courses are part-time for a maximum of 12 months and are open to all eligible applicants regardless of their employment status. For more information go to .
The Springboard+ upskilling initiative in higher education offers free and subsidised courses at certificate, degree and masters level, leading to qualifications in areas where there are employment opportunities in the economy.
Springboard+ programmes are open to all employed, unemployed and returner applicants.

Level 6 programmes are 100% funded by the Government to successful applicants.
Level 7, 8 and 9 programmes are 90% funded for those in employment, and 100% funded for those on a qualifying social welfare payment or those returning to the workforce after a period of being out of work.

There are a limited number of places allocated to Springboard+ funding. Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. An application for a Springboard+ funded place does not guarantee a place on the course.
