A welcome message from Professor Colum Dunne
Head of the School of Medicine 

On behalf of the School of Medicine, I am delighted to welcome you to the ºÚÁÏÉç School of Medicine Alumni Webpage. Having commenced with our first cohort of 32 medical students as the Graduate Entry Medical School in 2007, our growing alumni community reflects the significant expansion of the School of Medicine. Along with considerable growth in our GEM programme, undergraduate programmes in Paramedicine, Biomedical Sciences and postgraduate Masters in Public Health and Masters in Health Professions Education have enhanced the relevance of the school to healthcare delivery in Ireland and beyond. 

Building on our strong foundation of innovative education and pioneering research, and aligned with the ºÚÁÏÉç’s strategy, we continue to deliver education and research programmes of the highest quality while focused on working towards improving health outcomes in the communities we serve. In that context, we recognise that our success depends on our people and our partnerships, and our alumni are critical in promoting the School of Medicine and the university with prospective students, mentors, communities and funders. 

Benefits of membership of UL’s Alumni Community include notifications for Class Reunions and Local/International Alumni Events (within and outside of Ireland) promoted through our social media accounts.  The school communicates regularly to prospective applicants, current and graduating students, and alumni to ensure our community stays connected. We look forward to celebrating our 20-year anniversary with a number of events in 2027. We hope to see you there.
